Two of the world's great design obsessions, collapsed into one frame.
The Chrysler Building was always the most Egyptian thing Manhattan ever built—eagles, arches, the relentless reach upward. This piece takes that inheritance seriously. A vintage postcard of the New York cityscape, the Chrysler Building rising at its center, forms the foundation. Over it, a classical Egyptian pattern floods the surface in deep teal and blue-green, its ancient flowing forms moving like water or hieratic script across the image below. The building appears and reappears through the design—half-submerged, glimpsed through windows in the ornament—as though history is slowly reclaiming what it inspired.
At the center, a crosshair holds everything in place—vertical and horizontal axes meeting like a map pin, like a targeting reticle, like the point where two civilizations decided to shake hands across five thousand years.
Gold corner marks frame the whole thing like a cartouche. Nothing here is accidental.
Art Deco didn't emerge from nowhere. It looked at Egypt, looked at the machine age, and decided they were saying the same thing. This piece agrees.
