Meet M.M.V. 5.11.1876. A botanical time capsule on a checkerboard.

An archival floral by M.M.V., dated May 11, 1876 and sourced from the public-domain botanical archive, is dropped onto a bold checkerboard field. Soft reds, yellows, purples, and greens push against the grid, so it feels part vintage sketchbook, part graphic print.

Lightweight silk habotai keeps it easy to throw on, but the story behind it gives it staying power.

  • 100% silk habotai (8 momme)
  • Archival floral illustration by M.M.V., 5.11.1876 (archival botanical illustration)
  • Bold checkerboard backdrop with layered color
  • Rolled baby hem
  • Wear at the neck, over shoulders, or tied to a bag

A considered gift—arrives ready to wear.

Materials & Care

Material: 100% silk habotai (also known as China silk)—lightweight, smooth, and luminous with a subtle natural sheen.

Printing: Each scarf is made to order and printed with reactive dyes that set into the silk itself, so the color is permanent and won’t crack, peel, or fade. Finished with a rolled baby hem.

Care: Dry clean recommended. May also be gently hand-washed in cool water with mild detergent. Lay flat to dry. Iron on low heat with a pressing cloth if needed.
