Designed in our NYC studio

Think of On The Plains & Chicago as a field guide that fell onto a city map.

Tall stems, leaves, and blossoms from an 1881 prairie study are set against a subtle repeating LZ mark, giving the scarf a quiet grid you only catch up close. From a distance: soft botanical wash. Up close: structure.

It’s light, folds small, and adds just enough story to a very simple outfit.

  • 100% silk habotai (8 m/m)
  • Botanical motif inspired by an 1881 archival botanical work
  • Integrated LZ logo pattern for depth and texture
  • Rolled baby hem

A considered gift—arrives ready to wear.

Origin & Provenance. Designed in our West Village studio by artist Paul Morris. Each scarf begins as an original photograph or collage. It is digitally printed to order on 100% silk habotai in editions of 100.

Featured in our Botanical Silk Scarf Collection. Browse the M. M. V. 5.11.1876 Silk Scarf. Available in 26″, 36″, 50″ squares.

Materials & Care

Material: 100% silk habotai (also known as China silk)—lightweight, smooth, and luminous with a subtle natural sheen.

Printing: Each scarf is made to order and printed with reactive dyes that set into the silk itself, so the color is permanent and won’t crack, peel, or fade. Finished with a rolled baby hem.

Care: Dry clean recommended. May also be gently hand-washed in cool water with mild detergent. Lay flat to dry. Iron on low heat with a pressing cloth if needed.
